About this event

This course is being held virtually via Microsoft Team!

The Connect 5 programme is an accessible, evidence-based training that is relevant to anyone who works with people at any level.

It aims to provide participants with skills and competencies that build confidence in having conversations about health and wellbeing in their routine practice so that they can be more effective in helping people to manage mental health problems and increase their resilience and mental wellbeing through positive changes. The course follows three characters, utilising different techniques to help them deal with various issues and life situations. This allows participants to ‘try out’ different approaches and gain confidence in a supportive environment.

The Connect 5 train the trainer is to equip trainers with the knowledge and skills to be able to deliver the three sessions.

To be considered they have to have already completed sessions 1, 2 ,& 3 as a participant

The train the trainer course is delivered over 4 sessions with sessions 1 & 2 looking at the skills needed to create an adult learning environment, dealing with emotions, looking at behaviour change, looking at ourselves and reflective practise as well as looking at the resources.

Session 3 is looking at the resources and preparing the micro teach in small groups. Giving and receiving peer feedback.

Session 4 is delivering the micro teach to the whole group, constructive feedback, certificates etc.

We will need to distribute the hard copy resources before the sessions if they are to be delivered online so will need to end bookings at least a week before the course.
